Job Overview: The Area Sales Manager (ASM) or Territory Sales Manager (TSM) at Univia will be responsible for leading and supervising sales activities within a designated region or territory. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market share, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders such as retailers and influencers in the farming community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Management:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the assigned region/territory to achieve revenue and market share targets.
    • Identify sales opportunities and potential customers within the territory.
    • Set sales goals, quotas, and objectives for the sales team.
    • Monitor and evaluate team performance against sales targets.
    • Collaborate on monthly product forecasting.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, train, and manage a team of Sales Representatives within the region/territory.
    • Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to improve team performance.
    • Foster a collaborative and motivated sales team culture.
  3. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, farmers, and agricultural cooperatives within the region/territory.
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.
    • Identify customer needs and provide appropriate product recommendations.
  4. Market Analysis:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities within the region/territory.
    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and threats.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to adjust sales strategies and product offerings.
  5. Product Knowledge:
    • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s agricultural products and services.
    • Educate the sales team and customers about product features, benefits, and applications.
    • Promote the usage of the company’s app among retailers.
  6. Budget and Reporting:
    • Prepare and manage the sales budget for the region/territory.
    • Generate regular sales reports and performance metrics for senior management.
  7. Compliance:
    • Ensure all sales activities adhere to relevant agricultural regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in agricultural sales or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of agricultural products, practices, and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in using sales management software and tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region/territory.
